Coach and Communication Trainer Barbara Boldt and Boldt Global Recently Featured on Close Up Radio

FARMINGTON, MI, UNITED STATES, October 7, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- Barbara Boldt is the owner of Boldt Global -- a rare type of coaching practice specifically oriented to people’s ability to craft and deliver messages with enhanced confidence and power. Many of her clients are business leaders who need to motivate and persuade. She also helps non-native English speakers who want to get their message across clearly and effectively. And then there are some people who freeze at the thought of standing in front of a group, especially when it involves a microphone, who simply want to be able to deliver their spiel with calm confidence.

Barbara’s work has come out years of living abroad, in both Italy and Switzerland, where she initially taught English to foreign nationals and taught communication related topics in English to non-native English-speaking professionals and students. She has worked with people from more than 35 countries at all levels of leadership. She has a lifelong love of language, and a capacity for transforming hesitant communicators into persuasive powerhouses, using tools and strategies that help her clients find clarity, purpose, and authenticity, and build their executive presence.

“People often get nervous when they have to speak in front of groups. I have a way of helping them self- regulate that involves tapping on specific pressure points connected to the automatic nervous systems. And that’s just one strategy. We do a lot of video-recorded practice runs, so clients can see themselves the way an audience sees them, and I give a lot of feedback on things like pacing and tone.”

Barbara also helps her clients structure the message itself, taking into account who the audience is, what they already know, and if they might have an emotional response to the speech. She listens for repetitive filler words and sounds like um and er that show up often in the delivery (just look at one of your voicemail transcriptions.)

It’s ok to be nervous she notes, and nobody is perfect. But the more prepared and practiced the speaker is, the better the message will come across, and the better the outcome will be. It is also important. She also helps her clients to stay on topic and control habits like rambling.

Barbara is appearing on the podcast as part of the Empowering Women series because when she reviews her client roster it contains slightly more women than men. She believes women are often enculturated to speak in a warmer and sweeter tone that can undermine our authority. Learning how to speak with authority and own our power can be challenging. Gaining compliance and earning trust without being mean is a skill she helps women develop. Women also have to pay attention to their body language when they want to signal authority.

Of course, every client and case is individual and there are no blanket solutions. Barbara is an empathetic person, which can be a double-edged sword. It is useful when building relationships and giving feedback, but when it comes to closing sales as an entrepreneur, being too kind can work against you.

Barbara will talk about her history teaching, how she organically evolved into a coach, and some of her top tips to become a more effective speaker. It is bound to be a highly informative conversation. Who knows, maybe host Jim will learn something new about how his speech comes across?
